Ethelred II de Inglaterra
Ethelred II (Æþelred) (cerca 968 - 23 de Abril, 1016), foi Rei de Inglaterra entre 978 e 1013 e depois de 1014 a 1016. Ethelred era filho do segundo casamento do rei Edgar de Inglaterra com Elfrida e sucedeu no trono depois do assassinato do seu meio-irmão mais velho Eduardo o Mártir.
Durante o seu reinado, Ethelred enfrentou uma invasão viking liderada por Olaf Trygvasson, um senhor da guerra norueguês. Depois de algumas derrotas, Ethelred conseguiu expulsar os vikings através de um enorme suborno oferecido aos seus líderes.
