Iniciada em 1434, a Catedral de Nantes foi dedicada aos santos Pedro e Paulo. A catedral não tinha sido terminada até o final do século XIX, mas permaneceu surpreendentemente a arquitectura harmoniosa. O mais notável tesouro da catedral de Nantes é o túmulo renascentista de Michel François II, duque da Bretanha, e a sua segunda esposa, Margarida de Foix. Também digno de nota é o túmulo do general Juchault de Lamoricière, natural de Nantes.
